Said that, it is still an interesting plot and good read. Also, Lexi doesn’t emerge as a smart woman as described in the “forgotten three-year” period. On the flip side, the story language includes a lot of unnecessary swear words. Sophie Kinsella’s humor filled writing style adds spice to the plot. She struggles in the process as she ends up receiving more and more surprises like a secret lover, regret filled friends, etc. Lexi tries hard to fit into this wonderful new life that she could not remember anything about. Also, her old friends do not like her anymore as her lifestyle and work style has changed completely. All she remembers is the Lexi from the Prologue (snaggly teeth, bad hair, broke). Lexi goes on to discover that she looks totally differenther teeth are perfect, her hair is long and silky, she’s slender and toned, her purse is Louis Vuitton.

Not just that, now, she is a director in her company, she has a handsome and smart husband, she is rich, beautiful, etc., etc. Now Kinsella continues to unfold the story.

Lexi is now 27 years old but cannot remember a single thing from the past three years because of memory loss (amnesia). When she wakes up, her whole world has turned upside down. One day, she bumps her head and loses consciousness. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue.Lexi Smart is an ordinary 24-year-old girl who has a simple job in her company. Suddenly Lexi is scrambling to catch her balance. That is, until an adorably disheveled architect drops the biggest bombshell of all. And who is this gorgeous husband-who also happens to be a multimillionaire? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she…well, seems to be. Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a carb-free diet, and a set of glamorous new friends. Having survived a car accident-in a Mercedes no less-Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she’s about to find out just how much things have changed. When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she’s in for a big surprise.
